Let's use this sketch to represent the floor, with the orange outline being the oddly shaped tile:

Let's first move that orange tile away from the wall, so that the bottom edge lines up with the next tile down:

We know we just moved that tile the length of one tile. (Or in this case, one tile plus the width of the small strip that goes between the tiles. I must have forgotten that part in the video, hence having to trim the cut tile.) So these four distances in blue are equal to the length of one tile plus the width of one strip:

Lay a full tile where we're showing the orange tile, so that it lines up with the full tile below it. Using another full tile plus a piece of the tile strip (or just a tape measure) to represent the blue lines, mark the four circled points on the full tile that we're going to cut to make the orange shape:

This will give you a tile with these points marked:

Now connect the dots and cut along those lines, and you'll have the orange shaped tile, which you can now glue into place:
